As I watched this blue shark glide past me in the cool Pacific morning, the wave of its tail seemed to invite me to follow. In moments of utter peace like this, I struggle to understand the animosity humans often feel towards sharks. At the end of the day there is no such thing as "learning to live" with our planet's predators. Rather, we live because of the vital and ancient role they serve within their ecosystems.
