During the height of the annual spawning, thousands of female grouper finally began to release their eggs, prompting the waters around us to explode in a frenzy. As thousands of groupers took their cue to fertilize the next generation, hundreds of sharks descended upon them in one of the most spectacular and tragic scenes in nature. Everything seemed to happen all at once and the entire show was over in the blink of an eye.
