Sperm whale calves like Ariel spend their earliest stages of life playing with their pod members, napping, and growing strong on mom’s milk and unconditional love. Over time, each young whale will acquire the skills and generational wisdom needed to navigate a vast ocean filled with potential dangers. Between ship strikes, pollution, and the ever-looming threat of entanglement in fishing nets, surviving in today’s ocean is certainly not easy. However, thanks to the inherent resilience of a matriarchal structure and the unbreakable bonds between pod members, even the most vulnerable sperm whales can defy all odds and thrive.
